How to find land ???
« on: October 15, 2010, 01:28:06 pm »
Hello,

Me and my OH want to move somewhere with land, its much toooooo expensive here in North Yorkshire where we live at present. We are thinking probably Scotland or Wales ( because its slightly cheaper, and I love mountains), but its taking forever trawling through websites every night looking for suitable plots.

Does anyone know of any good websites where you can fiind plots of 5-10 acres, either with planning permission or somewhere to renovate ? ?

Have been on Rightmove and lots of other sites, but its taking over my life, I just seem to spend every evening on the computer looking... Its like an obsession, we have pigs at the mo but want to have other animals and maybe a B&B.

There must be an easy way of doing this, but I can't find it..any suggestions gratefully received.

Hiya!  Been there done that!!   Know exactly how you feel, its not easy waiting for something to crop up.

We are in north Wales between Snowdonia and the Berwyns (about 10 miles from Snowdonia National Park) and all the agents all advertise on Rightmove here.  There are some good offers about at the moment; there is a redundant pub for sale about 5 miles from here with 5 acres and river frontage - offers over £200,000.  Needs to be made into a dwelling - think its three storey, about 200 yrs old.  There is also a Scandi Hous bungalow for sale with 6 acres and a couple of barns, also with river frontage for £295,000. So depending on where in Wales you are interested in moving there are some good properties about. If you search for 'Corwen' on Rightmove and 10 miles around, you should come up with these and a number of others.  Properties are pretty stagnant here at the moment so you could grab a bargain - good luck!!
