Hi sandy it was me, my mum brought come coloured cones from Lakeland last year  and they burn blue and look really effective, but at i think ove £9 for 30 its a little expnsive!!
I have found a recipe on google using different chemicals in water, so will have a go and let you know.

You have to be really careful with the kids Sandy, even on the Lakeland box it is quite clear that these are poisonous. and i am not chemist but reading the chemical list on Google they could be a little unpleaesant, although as long as you get the kids to use tongs it will be all ok.

We got married at Christmas as well, was a  great timne of year to do it.

My daughter is a chemist/scientist too so I should see if she has some ideas...one of her jobs (she has millions..well a lot) is putting on physics parties for children and adults, they make stuff and have fun too!!! thanks, collecting cones keeps me occupied too!

Brilliant! for blue burning they say soak some Copper Phosphate in water till disolved and then put as many cones in as you can, making sure they are submerged, then leave then  to dry properly before burning. i will find the website which showed all the differen chemicals, perhaps you could ask your daughter for some proffesional advice before any of us embark on this
