hens moved house
« on: June 28, 2010, 10:07:09 pm »
I just moved the broodies into the safe house, as the eggs are near " completion". When I checked again a while later they were not sitting on the eggs & I'm a bit concerned that they might not finish the job now! :chook: :chook: :&>

it wasn't as easy  as I assumed from other folks' posts!  This morning both jumped out and conversed endlessly with the cockerel in the other run! Then they seemed to rustle about who is going onto which nest and we had a casualty, one almost fully developed chick, quite sad...now one decided to give up and the other one is on the nest with all the eggs left...we'll see in a few days if they were off too long, what a day! :chook: :chook: :&>
