Just joined the forum and hoping to engage in all the discussions around poultry and sheep. We have just over 12 acres in Derbyshire and looking to set up meat birds (Chickens, Ducks, Geese and Quail) along with a small flock of sheep (75).

We also have a specialized section of breed specific chickens, ducks and geese which are sold as Hatching eggs, Poults or POL

Apart from the farm my partner (Catherine) and I run a small creative company so if any of you out there are looking for some pro-bono advice on marketing just send over your questions and we will do our best to work up the right solution for you.

We have two German Wire Haired Pointers and three Parrots.

Welcome to the forum Langcress. I'm originally from Ashbourne, Derbyshire, have been over all of it (I thought) and have to confess I've never heard of Langcress? Where in Derbyshire is it?

Presume the 75 sheep on what's left of 12 acres was a typo?

I could fit 75 sheep on 12 acres with a paddock system and good planning

If they are hill sheep you could I think get 10 to an acre (0.6 LSU/acre , hill sheep = 0.06 lsu each) with some suplementary feeding. so 75 would only take 7 or 8 of his acres leaving him 4 for the meat birds and other produce - sounds possible if feed is being bought in.
