Hi everyone

Could someone advise me when the breeding season starts/ends for goats? Is it the same as sheep?

Thanks
Jo

Usually Sept - Mar. Some goats, even some breeds do cycle outwith that time. Earliest mine been in season last week of August and latest 1st week of March. Can vary with weather I think mine did not start til November this year but I sponged ones I wanted to kid earlier as they did that last year only starting when herd matriarch started in Nov. Cycle every 3 weeks, in season for about a day. They make a lot of noise and wag their tail.

Two of mine have just finished their first season this autumn. Very late even for them as they usually start in October.
