Hi to all
« on: May 20, 2010, 09:48:34 am »
just thought I'd give a bit of background, had my plot for about 4 years now and rent some out to horse folk and run a few cattle on the rest. Used to have pigs but have given myself a break this last winter, I am curious to go to a sale next week for boer goats as I fancy trying my hand at meat goats. Other than that theres a couple of cats dogs ferrets and a welsh pony that I've kind of inherited. Can't keep chickens as the locals steal them. Cheers G

My land is about 4 miles from where I live so whenever I try to keep chickens/poultry they last about 2-3 weeks then disappear. I had a piglet pinched once too.

Hello and welcome from Derbyshire.  Thankfully, we do not seem to have poultry rustlers round here, although I do worry sometimes as my hens and goats are up the lane from the house, and someone could easily carry the small pygmy goats off under their arm.  But so far, no problems.

Hello to all, they seem to take anything here, chickens piglets fence units, etc I even had ten fence posts pinched once, and they were alresdy knocked into the ground.
Sorry to disappoint Roxy but I'm Derbyshire too.
