My first incubator hatch.....

Chicks 1 & 2 hatched just before 3pm today - Buff Orpingtons. I was almost late for the school run!

I'm sure there will be more pics soon!

Pleased to report that 9 out of the 11 eggs hatched - 82% not bad for a beginner! There were almost 20 hours between the first and last eggs hatching, but fortunately my boys got to witness a couple  :)

We're going to move the chicks to the brooder later this afternoon.

I have had trouble resizing pics for here, so I'll pop them on the Facebook site  :)

Love the pictures.

Everyone seems to be doing better on the hatching rates than me but I'm still well pleased to have got 10 out of 20 on my eggs from ebay.

That's good to know shetlandpaul  .  My last batch I got 4 from 20 but, to be fair, i did have a power cut and I had to drive the incubator 10 minutes down the road to plug in for the day!
