Well that's it.  Made an executive decision in absence of OH. 

The contractor phoned at midday and said we have a 'very small window' to make the hay.  He is cutting our 5 acres of standing grass this afternoon. I shall now be on tenterhooks all week.
 Wish me luck with the  god, no or I'll be  and OH will be  .

The very best of luck with your hay.  We're still a few weeks off, which is probably just as well as we have a series of very heavy showers running through every day.  It's one of the most stressful times

It is so good of them to come and do our tiny acreage - on a Sunday - as they are working flat out when the weather allows.  And they just  when I ask for 'little old lady small bales please'

Bramble or,  does your contractor come and turn it for you ,  or do you have your own machinery for this ?

Stufe, Our brilliant neighbour is a contractor and he does it all for us - no machinery of our own. Tedded yesterday and still dry  .

  Thick mist here this evening and 200 bales in the barn . 300 in stacks under covers until the workforce (me and OH) get some more energy.  Neighbour has been  baling and wrapping all day and still at it.  Rain due tonight.

We're having intermittent good weather with pelting rain in between times, so ours isn't even cut yet - I need a 'biting finger nails' icon.
