Colin, the intrepid silkie cross.

Colin got spooked by our dog running past him the beginning of Feb. He flew over the fence into the field next door and then wandered off. I went looking for him but he disappeared.

A couple of weeks later a stockman from the neighbouring farm said he'd seen a cockerel out the back of the lambing sheds but I couldn't find him. I then had flu and was out of action for about three weeks and figured he'd gone for good.

Three weeks ago I heard a cock crowing in the distance. I know noone else has them locally! Asked farmer to keep an eye out. Yesterday they said he was in a barn and today they dropped him round. He looks good, he's beefed up  ;D  and is in good condition.

What a bird! I am very rural, on the edge of a moor and some forest and he's survived for the best part of three months alone. Can't cull him now-can anyone offer him a good home? Or the brown MD that will have to go to make room for him?
