We've had a "proper" Autumn here in the Marches - mist some mornings, colder at night but mild and quite calm otherwise. I believe the Jet Stream is presently south of where it would normally be, which means we may get the usual weather for Yorkshire unless the Jet Stream moves again. We always go into Winter with at least six weeks' feed for us and the stock in store and a full wood stack - that's how long it took for the snow to melt in the Winter of 1946/47, which is legendary in these parts ..... "the snow were so high you could touch the telegraph wires ...."
