wow Cameron! is it the same hens laying extra do you know? I'm still only getting 6 a day from 11 hens but they are all laying at some point or other.

I'm getting 6 from 8 but one lady who lives with the ducks hasn't laid for months!  But since her name is Lucky she can stay!  She was a chick killer(that's why I got her from QWOLF) but is now the friendliest of all of mine.

I am getting 20 hen eggs and 8 bantam eggs per day - selling them all at the field gate, so money jar filling up nicely.  Have a feeling some are laying somewhere else, as we have a lot of hens, although some will only just be coming into lay now the lighter nights are here.

Chucks and bantams each laying an egg a day here, turkeys doing well and averaging 10-12 a week from 4 hens although 3 are just youngsters.

Hopefully should have enough for a clutch to put under the most experienced lady by tuesday. Hoping some of the bantams may get broody soon as our layers don't seem interested in sitting.

Had 3 quail eggs yesterday, the first this year, ducks laying  4-5 a day now and getting 6-7 hens eggs each day, seems to have been a long time coming... now inundated with eggs, at least selling to friends will help pay for all the food consumed in all that snow!!

Got my wish earlier than expected - daughter announced at tea time that one of the bantam girls is indeed sitting on eggs  :chook: Will have to see if I can swap a couple for layer eggs  ;D definately don't want any more bantam cockerel and can't even give the things away lol

the chooks have been really good from mid winter I was only without eggs for a couple of weeks. Now all 3 are laying nearly every day. the ducks are in full swing, 7 out of 8! I have my suspicion that number 8 is hiding them again in the garden but the weather was so awful that I did no search for them yet. Maybe the kids will find the nest on Sunday, lol  :&>
