New Arrivals
« on: March 28, 2010, 12:35:29 pm »
On Friday evening we took delivery of our girls.

3 Black Rocks (16weeks)

3 Calder Rangers (24weeks)

The Calders will chat to you if you speak to them, which the kids love.

The Black Rocks are a little timid, but i'm sure they'll be ok given time.

I did notice yesterday, 2 of the Black Rocks have deformed toes, is this normal for the breed ?

They are lovely!
I have 2 black rocks, never really looked at their feet and noticed anything obviously weird - will remember to look next time I'm with them! although mine aren't timid, they aren't particularly interactive (unless its porridge or scraps time) not like some of our others. the bluebells talk back to my daughters bit like your calders, which is really nice  :)

Yep, can't wait for the eggs   :P

I've been doing a little research on the girls & it looks like they might be a little younger than i was told, as their combs don't seem to be fully formed or red enough   ???

They look lovely.  I wouldn't worry about their feet as long as they are getting around fine and aren't in any pain.

No problems there, i had one take a leap onto the roof of the run today as i was giving them their grains ..... dunno who got the bigger fright, me or her, cos she just stood there giving me a strange look as if to ask "what happened there then pal"  :D
