We took delivery of our two girl yesterday, they were kept in the shelter overnight, let out this morning they wouldnt go back in tonight, they have access to the shelter all the time its in there paddock, should we keep them penned in the area of the shelter  or just let them use it or not, now worried in case they get ill

If they can get in they will go in there if they want to. First sign of rain usually sends mine in. In fact they seem to know rain is on its way and head in before it arrives. Shouldn't worry.

Ours have been out in the field for evening milking the last few days, it's been very mild here. They're usually straight in if it's raining, windy or even sunny, so if they've been let out, I'm sure they'll figure out how to get back in if they need to.

I never shut mine in but they have free access. In warmer weather, I've seen them outside at 3am before now. Make sure the door is propped open so it can't blow shut and have a good night's sleep. Enjoy your goats.

They are now using the shelter and yes they run inside when it rains, I got them feeding from my hand yesterday so everything going in the right direction, they were very standoffish the first few days I put that down to new surroundings and new people :-)

Sounds like it. It's bound to take them a few days to settle in, if not longer. Glad they are liking their shelter.
