Good Afternoon from the Humberside area
« on: April 25, 2010, 02:35:17 pm »
Good Afternoon all, my name is Eddie and im 24 and from the Bridlington area of Humberside.

I am a qualified Butcher have been in the meat industry for 8 years or so now, have great experience in butchering pork lamb chicken game and some on the bone beef.

I am starting to put my dream into existence.

I am looking  to start out small, with a small plot to keep a small lot of pigs to produce for meat, also looking into a premises for butchering were it wont be open to the public but will be online, were members of the public can order from the website via phone, email, website.

I am going to concentrate on pork at 1st really as i would like to specialise in pork, sausages and bacon.

Any help and advice on the agricultural side would be very greatful.

Thanks Eddie

Hello and welcome Eddie
You should find loads of info in the pig section - well worth having a read through there, because every question you can think of will have been posted there. Pigs are great fun to keep and highly addictive - good luck & keep us posted.

Well things have taken a turn for the worse, i have been made redundant, although god news it will now push me to find my premises tto trade from for my butchery. As for my pigs they will have to wait. looking to have a shop up and running within 3-6months dependant on how paperwork etc... goes through.

I have seen a few shops but now without work buying is out of the window, so will be looking to rent a retail outlet, so things i had hoped for may take longer than expected, i will keep you all posted n how it goes.
