[Bramham Wiltshire Horns]

hi there

i have been given three young muscovoy ducks and was wondering at what age they can be sexed
there beaks are just starting to go red i think they are around 10-12 weeks they still seem to have a bit of a squeek, none of the oil glands arent as prominent as yet
is there any clear way of knowing

2 are white and grey and the other more white with a little grey on the top

i took them in exchange of the 20 cokerels i had left over but always wanted muscovoys so thought i would take a chance

im not too worried if the are all male as im sure they will taste nice but a couple of females wouldnt go a miss

The sex differences should be fairly easy to spot at that age unless they are all the same sex.

Males will be a bit bigger and chunkier, the thickness of the legs is usually a big giveaway.

With Muscoveys you can tell the difference fairly early on, because the males' bodies are a little longer, with a slight hump above the tail.  The females are more compact and delicate, with smaller feet and legs, and not so much red skin around the eyes. In the males the red skin becomes knobby, but not in the females.
I agree, we need a pic, especially one taken sideways on.

thanks for that where i have them at work its difficult to get pictures (government building) but will see what i can do
they do seem big birds but not much red happening
