I have an older chicken that I think might be sick. She is very listless, and is constantly by the water trough drinking. When I pick her up and massage her throat, water pours out her beak. Anyone know what this might be??

From what you say could be compacted crop. Have a feel at the top of the breast and bottom of the neck and if the crop feels hard give it a massage between your thumb and forefinger.Try to get some warm water with a bit of oil down her throat before you massage.Eating long grass can cause this problem. Need more info for a further diagnosis
