usually the way of storing hay and straw is in an open front barn
we dont have those type of out buildings
ive allocated a metal storage shed for this purpose
is this suitable i do leave the doors open a little to let air circulate around and they
are sitting on pallets is well again for air circulation and to hopefully stop them from
getting damp.
whach ya think?

Pallets are great, we always put bales on them. I would be careful with a metal shed when it warms up, as what you need to avoid is damp, and if it is hot you may find you get a fair bit of condensation. Wet is what you avoid most of all.

We have to put ours on pallets and cover with tarps.. By no means idea but we've lost very little the last 2 yrs.

Just for interest the old Dutch Barns were made with RSJ legs and corrogated iron sheeting roofs you must have seen them on farms I cannot draw on here but like nnn joined together they had open sides and a wide arch left side a narrow middle so the thrashing machine could stand between the big left and right arches
