Panacur - where to buy?
« on: February 02, 2015, 09:05:23 am »
Hi all

Where are people buying their Panacur from? I used to buy from Mole Valley but looks like they only stock Flubenol now...

I'm looking for it in oral form, preferably that I can order online. Anyone have good experience with anything else? Ive used Flubenol recently on some of the herd so want to steer away from it for a while now.

Thanks :) Sophie  :pig:

When I needed it for my weaners a year or so back my vet worked out the dosage and gave me the required number of powder sachets (I think they were meant for cats/dogs) and the powder went into peanut butter sandwiches (not prepared in my kitchen of course with loaf specially brought for the piggies... :)). It worked, as the only other way would have been a HUGE quantity meant for industrial units...

I understood panacur is no longer licensed for pigs, which is why Mole Valley no longer stock it. Is panacur you buy for dogs, cats, horses the same as the panacur you gave pigs? I ask because the spot on you buy for sheep and cattle is not the same as the spot on you buy for dogs and cats. I bought panacur in a liquid form for sheep, cattle and horses, which would be easy enough to add to pig food but of course there is no withdrawal information for pigs and do you dose at sheep or cattle rate?
