Hi all
« on: November 03, 2009, 10:37:15 am »
My name is Bev, I live with my hubbie, 4 cats and 3 dogs. We keep chickens for eggs and meat and occasionally pigs (only for ourselves not commercially)and try to grow my own veg, although the last 2 years have been a bit of a let down.

I foster dogs from the local rescue and love craft, mostly patchwork and driftwood stuff that I sell at local craft shows.

I'll be asking lots of advice soon as we are moving and hope to expand on our livestock and this seems like a very friendly, helpful site.

HI  Bev

I just joined yesterday. You will find my introduction beside yours, we have just moved two weeks ago to a small holding so perhaps we can grow together and share advice...

When and where are you moving to? Good luck

Hi and welcome. You'll find lots of help and advice here - we're a friendly bunch and even if we have spats, generally, we kiss and make up!

Hi Rosemary, Hi Lavinia,

Thanks for the welcome.

We're in rural Carmarthenshire, and are just moving a few miles. Hopefully in a few weeks. We've only got a large garden at the moment and closeish neighbours so have to limit what we have. We're only going to have 1/2 acre to start but are hoping to buy the paddock next door, the main thing is NO NEIGHBOURS  ;D so hubbie can have his longed yearned for cockeral. We'll also definately get some more geese to keep the lawn down, our last 2 outgrew the space we had (we intended having them for Xmas but got too attatched) and so they went off to a friends.

Sounds good about sharing advice Lavinia, hope it all goes well for you.

Hello from me  ;D
I'm looking forward to hearing all about how you get on.
Like you I grow my own (mostly ;)) have pigs from time to time and hoping to get my chooks once we sort out our resident fox population - I'm all for equality, but not providing them with a free luch !
You'll have to post some photos of your driftwood stuff - I'm an avid crafter too, so always interested  ;D

Hi Hilarysmum and Happyhippy.

Must admit Karen I have already seen your posting for Slate signs, they are really beautiful, far better than the ones you normally see around. Looks like we're also trying to get our websites together with the same host site, still got a fair bit of work to do on mine and trying to figure out the best way to do things.  :-\

We've not long come back from Scotland, spent 2 weeks touring around and breaking down in an old van, with our dogs needless to say.Stunning part of the country,  we went in Oct to avoid the midges but wish someone had warned me about the tics as well...gross  :-[
