Any TAS TARTAN Specialists out there?

Wondering if anyone knows much about tartan???

I have been told that my maiden name has its own tartan, and I would
love a nice scarf made from it.  "Kilbride".  I havent seen it, but a yard
or a metre would be a nice buy on my trip over. ;D
Anyone know where I might get some?

Hello mrs,
There is an East Kilbride tartan
http://www.tartans.scotland.net/tartan_info.cfm@tartan_id=1277.htm
Or Kilbride comes under clan of Caledonia, this website shows it all

I'm not entirely sure where you can buy tartan from in Glasgow, I've always got it mail order from Inverness.
Here's my clan tartan by the way

Wow - Your Dad's very lucky to stay the same size.

Thanks for all that info - yes East Kilbride is the area some folks came from, though many are from Ireland, which makes me think this little bit of land we live on now, floated off at some point in the past  ;D ;D ;D

Nah, he's always been big, then cheated his way to dramatic weightloss by having a gastric bypass. That, I'm afraid, is the only reason it still fits !
Anyways, I'd better stop yapping and go and get on with your sign  ;)

My Grandad was Kilbride, his wife, my Dad's mum, MacDonald

Guess what - Kilbride and MacDonald are related - and share MacDonald Tartan.

Dad once showed me a bit of old tartan when I was a kid, and it was green with blue squares,
I was sooo dissapointed as I wanted to have a nice red tartan back then - you know the ones
bay city roller reds etc.

Anyhow, the bit of tartan he showed me as a Kilbride tartan seems to be a MacDonald Isle Hunting tartan.

How weird is that - related to each other my grandparents were  - he he he - keep it in the clan  ;D ;D ;D
