I'm not sure you can cut feathers off altogether.  Wouldn't the bird bleed?

yes they would. if they are not botherd with them then leave them. we cut one of the gooses feathers too short last year and the amout of blood loss is quite high.

That's what I thought - like dog's nails, there is a 'quick'  They bleed like stink if you trim them too short.  A nightmare with black ones!  I always keep a tub of flour nearby when cutting my dogs nails - clogs the blood up.  My Jamie's feathers are sticking about all over the place but they'll fall out soon so he can grow new ones.

I think your goose has angel wing wont do it any harm but will always look like that. It's a condition usually caused by incorrect feeding as a youngster.

cant be the feed as all 4 had the same.. chick crumbs, then grower pellets.

I've got one the same harry - certain looks like angel wing and was one of 18 all feed the same just the one with the problem. It doesn't seem to bother it so i have left well alone.

If they catch them and they snap and bleed use cornflour to stop the bleeding it works a treat ;)

I've seen alot of Canada Geese in a park local to here that have angel wings.  They seem to get along fine and aren't bullied by the other geese.  I would just call the goose Gabrial!!
