Support just when we need it on tap!
« on: December 17, 2013, 10:05:41 am »
I have a few friends on my Facebook that are also on here, just at the moment I have 3 very ill friends, one not on Facebook but I feel I need support sometimes too as I do not want to say or do the wrong things when they are communicating with me, some one  knowing and being there helps. In these sort of times its  hard to know what to say and what not to say without sounding goody goody, I am posting this as a lot of us, if not all, face issues from time to time and ask for help on here, they immense help the support of a few understanding words works wonders for me, so I know, at least I have people on hand that will understand and help!! I am not after advice, just support!! THANKS    you know who you are...all of you TASers!

Sandy, I have told you before, bygones are bygones, and I am only a few minutes away if you need me - but it is entirely up to you.  Support is what you get when you trust someone enough to receive it.

I recently received a great deal of support on here when I asked what to do about the bullying. The matter has been addressed and I am now able to return to my walk.
Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age

I feel for you Sandy, it's hard trying to say and do the right thing - but if you get it wrong, no-one will be in any doubt that you meant well, and that counts for an awful lot.

Thanks.................My best friend hardly posts anything but all her family do, I found some photos of when we were on holiday and they often post photos of us too...her husband is very controlling but she is in the last stages of breast cancer.....she comes from a farming background as well, I chat with her family and feel they are mine as I grew up with them....we were never apart until I moved up here!!!! Then another friend, who I have known since I was 11, has also got bad news, she already has had some invasive surgery on her face, she is such a lovely women and again, her family are all interconnected to mine, small town stuff, we supported each other while fostering as well.....she is a trained counsellor herself, some nights she posts loads of stuff and I know she wants company!!! I do get a bit of support from Steve..then my cousin, who is a nurse or was a nurse, has had major surgery, there is a good chance she  will get better, I have sent her a letter as she does not do Facebook or e mail, I think a lot of her as she had a very hard start to life but ended up being taken into care buy a rich relation, that was the best thing that happened to her as she then did very well but is a scared women from her past.......I think she wants to talk to me about that too.......My problems are insignificant...nothing a bit of money or selling the house wouldn't solve!!

So glad you resolved you walkies issue Anne, there are so many stunning walks in the area, now I have a pup I cannot go too far and do go off road a bit, when it was really windy Steve suggested Glen Devon!!! :innocent:   silly man!! thanks for the offer too.......   TAS is enough for now but I do wish my girls were near!

I also have a close friend who has a black dog called depression, they are currently OK but before long the dog will appear with vengeance,  now I am not going to discuss that on here as its too personal but I would love to go over something's they have done and said with some one who knows all about depression...and it's defiantly not me

I often say, we can help others with problems but cannot help ourself...a bit like children, we can often see the faults of others parenting skills but do put the advice into practice!

I would like to thank everyone who contributes on here.  I don't always feel confident enough to speak up on issues, but I read this everyday.  I've been going through a bit of a bad patch and sometimes just realising that I am not the only one feeling bad helps.  Reading the advice and the care people share for each other regardless of the miles is wonderful!
