Hi All - I have been selecting a line of hens which lay large brown speckled eggs and I now have some of their  hatching eggs for sale.  Fertility at home is pretty well 100 percent.

The birds are a selection from my Marans, but these make larger birds than usual so are excellent dual purpose.  They are good egg layers, and even the pullets are laying eggs of around 60-75 grs.

I am (I hope) attaching a picture of some eggs laid today together with a pale blue egg to show the colour contrast

They are £1.50 each plus p&p special delivery next day before 1pm £8 for 6 and £10.  I send in specially made boxes and hatchability after postage is high 6 from 6 and 11 from 12 in the last month.

sue no longer supplies hatching eggs as she is in the process of retiring, come the spring there will be other people who have purchased stock from her who may have some hatching eggs to supply.

Thanks- and bloomer is absolutely right - there should be other folk able to supply hatching eggs from my lines come spring.


Once my auction sale is sorted and over and maybe the house sale completed I should have time to include a page on the darkbrown eggs site with details of those who are breeding my stock on and may have birds or eggs for sale

Ok thanks guys spring it is:( I'll have to be patient spring seems a very long way off though haha..

I'd also be very interested, we've been looking into hens4homes - rescuing a couple of girls, additionally would love a couple of eggs to hatch ourselves....hurry up spring!
