Companion Steinbacher gander
« on: October 31, 2013, 08:57:31 am »
I have a three year old Steinbacher gander who is free to a good home.

This is because I believe he is infertile - my geese have sat well for the past two years, but nothing.

So I am replacing him, which sadly means he will have to go.

He is pleasant with people, not aggressive like some ganders. I've no idea what he would be like with another gander, I only have the one, though he doesn't give the drakes grief.

He could, of course, become Xmas dinner, but he's a nice animal and I know sometimes people have lost a bird and have one lonely goose who needs a friend, so I thought I'd try.

He would have to be collected from near Kirkby Stephen (J38 on M6 or not far off A66) or I am going to Langholm on Sat am, and Durham on Sat eve, so could possibly deliver en route.

Hi Gary  Yeh, things are good, thank you. Hopefully, if the new gander is the answer, I'll have some goslings next summer, so I'll let you know. Sorry to hear about your Pilgrims.

Not ready for snow yet, need a couple of weeks of hard frost, it's mud everywhere and I've only just got my mower back, so I need to get onto the fields and cut the seaves before the snow arrives - too wet at the moment.

I didn't breed any chooks this year, well apart from some mongrels for my neighbour, but I must hatch some next year, my flock is getting pretty elderly!

All the best,
J
