Hi there,

I am looking for a smallish hen to keep our Silkie hen 'Tweety' company. She was the only one who hatched from our incubator and after having been with us inside for a while she is now noticeably unhappy by herself outside. I have stuffed my daughters fluffy chicken (with her blessing of course  ) inside Tweety's coop which seems to make a bit of a difference but I am still worried about the cold kicking in soon with her being the only warm body in the coop.

We have other, big, hens but they are not accepting her so she is now our front garden pet chicken...

Can anyone help please?

I have a cuckoo araucana who fits the bill. She is scared of all my other chickens and chooses to sleep with the ducks. She is large fowl, but araucanas don't get particularly large.
 
I would want quite a bit for her though, £30, as she is literally just at point of lay, lays very pretty pale green eggs, and she is a rare colour for that breed (and I wasn't actively looking to sell her). She is a funny little thing and very friendly.
