Having recently acquired 6 Herdwick ewes (pure but unregistered) Who sort of came with the two lovely collies we took on, I have gotten quite fond of the Herdys despite them being at least 4x the size of my dainty Shetlands.


However if I was to breed them, then altho they are unregisteered they are pure bred so I would ideally like to breed pure not cross bred like the lambs they came with (which were Ryeland crosses).


Not necessarily for this year, but does anyone in Aberdeenshire keep Herdwicks? So I can ask about possible future loaning or even purchase of a ram?
