CSSA Smallholding Visit and summer BBQ incorporating 'Show what you grow' - Saturday 24.8.2013 - from 11am Hello Visit to Simon and Cheryl Osborne's smallholding near Bonkle (by Wishaw). We are trying to grow fruit and veg in the walled garden and polytunnel, and we have chickens, geese, Kerry Hill sheep, and Belted Galloway Cattle, so please come to have a look around - we would welcome your advice. We are trying to get members of BASH (Biggar area smallholders) along too, for some cross-pollination of ideas and views, as we are really on the border between CSSA and BASH. We will have the CSSA's annual light-hearted fruit and veg growing competition 'Show what you grow' - categories attached below. You are welcome to enter all, some or none of the categories but the more the merrier as it's just for fun and to see what folk are growing.  Please PM me through TAS or reply to [email protected] if you are interested in coming so that we know numbers, or if you have any queries. Anyone not a member of either CSSA or BASH is very welcome and will be able to join up at the time if you wish. Directions to our place will be sent to you once we know who's coming.  CSSA Show What You Grow

It was lovely to meet some more TASers today; Simon and Cheryl did us proud with their tours of the animals and of the walled garden!

Thanks to everyone for coming - there were some really tasty sausages burgers and meat for the BBQ and we enjoyed the day. Molly and Meg were happy seeing their Granny and Grandpa again. Well done to all entrants to the 'show what you grow' competition, there was some great looking fruit and veg; congrats to Stuart (Moregin) for his 'Best entry in show' award for his tasty sweet Victoria Plums!
