For some reason I am suddenly unable to insert a quote. I have just switched to Google Chrome. Is there a connection?

Are you trying to quote a whole message as above by clicking on the word quote at the top right of a message, or to quote a section from a message by clicking on the quote icon 13th along, second row down and pasting as below

Or are neither of them working?

There is a bug in the forum software - if you try to insert a quote using Chrome without the cursor in the editor window it fails.

Please can you try clicking in the editor first, then clicking the 'Insert Quote' link?

There is a fix for this, but it looks like it breaks another aspect of the editor, so I need to do some digging.

Dan, I don't have any problem and I'm always on Chrome?  If I want to quote a whole message i click the word/icon quote above the message I'm quoting and the reply box opens automatically.  No problem quoting using the icon after opening a reply box either. So why is MGM different?

Probably because it only happens in very specific circumstances.

I can replicate it here with Chrome. Click reply, and before you do anything else click 'Insert Quote' from a previous post. The quote isn't inserted into the editor. If you do anything else before clicking 'Insert Quote', it works fine.

Well, not for me and possibly MGM! Too many variables to determine exactly why it's happening and for whom, but it is happening so we'll try to fix it.

Good luck then, beats me.   :innocent:
