Horsetail (marestail?)
« on: July 15, 2013, 12:40:57 pm »
Hi
reading a list of poisonous plants, it mentions horsetail, my goats eat it if they get chance, but I pull them away, could/should I let them eat it? (might help keep it down, it's got way out of hand)

Bad for sheep too so I imagine the same applies to goats.

I must have weird goats  :-\ they have (despite our best efforts) buttercups in the field, and bracken and horsetail around the place but they don't bother with it or have become immune? or maybe there are just better things to eat and they have become choosy? I don't know, but after buying just about every book on goat keeping they still surprise me
keeper of goats, sheep, pigs, ducks, chickens, turkeys, dogs, cats, goldfish and children, just don't ask me which is the most work!
