Hi all,
had a bit of a shock this morning- our ewes and lambs are grazing in a field down the road and we went down this morning as usual just to check them all. One of our Wilts Horn has suddenly acquired two very raw patches (flesh exposed) one on each side of her neck right where her thymus gland is. she also has a noticable swelling around them and under her jaw. been on the internet for ages and it sounds possible that she has had a swelling in thymus gland which has burst.(not uncommon in wool sheddrers) we have bought her home and she is currently in our shady paddock . gave her some abs- cleaned up the mess and gave a good dollop of terramycin. each patch is a good 4 inches by 4 inches and it does look a right mess. any thoughts ?? hoping its not fly strike but no evidence of maggots, she seems ok in herself and is scoffing on the better grass in our little paddock. seems glad to have been removed from her twins who were due to be weaned this week anyway. was going to take a photo to stick on here but forgot till we'd blue sprayed it
