West of England Geese due to hatch on Sunday
« on: May 24, 2013, 11:11:15 am »
Finally time is nearly up! My first gosling hatch is due on Sunday and the next lot a few days later from a different place (so no interbreeding if I end up with goose/geese and gander). What is the best way of marking the first ones? I was thinking of using zip ties and changing them every week - is that often enough as I believe they grow really fast? This is new to me so any tips on raising geese is much appreciated. I have unmedicated chick crumb and duck and goose growers pellets. I have read 10 days on chick crumb and then onto growers. Is that right and how long on growers? I have hatched quail and chickens successfully and am getting more adventurous. Ducks next (LOL).

I was checking them yesterday and got huge wobbles from 2 of the first 3 and I thought I heard something (probably my imagination).
