Moving chicks

I am going to move 3 week old chicks from house to outbuilding. They will still have heat to sit under , however what will I put on floor, shavings, straw, hay?

pygmy goats, gsd, border collie, scots dumpys, cochins, araucanas, shetland ducks and geese,  marrans, and pea fowl in a pear tree.
