Is this normal?
« on: February 22, 2013, 03:01:54 pm »
As you all know, I have 2 brother pygmy goats, Toby and Billy. Both are around 2 years old now and both have been castrated. The last couple of days they have been playing very well together, enjoying the dry sunny weather, however I have noticed that Billy is getting very fresh with Toby and has been trying to mount him and have his wicked way! Is this usual behaviour even though they have both been done? Is Billy a gay goat do you think or will boys try to mount anything?
Mary.

Yep, entirely normal.

You should have seen my 4year-old milker (not in kid), trying to mount one of the others who is due in 3 weeks time yesterday.... just dominance play, and in my case there must be quite a few hormones flying round the shed with 5 of them due in the next two months...

Yours will be fine.

Thanks both for putting my mind at rest. The dominance bit must be right as its Billy mounting Toby. Billy is the dominant one by far, Toby is very laid back. I must post some piccies of them, they are such cuties and so friendly.
