The two cats sleep in the barn where the stables are and the chickens. Cats have their beds which are very cosy. This morning I noticed a chicken sitting in one of the beds and told myself to check later on. Took the ponies in at 3pm. chickens all went into their stable for the night. I remembered to look in the cat bed where Jacs was sound asleep on top of 6 eggs. Not one broken. chickens often lay in the hay racks but this was the first time they have taken over the cats bed !

I have a chook that goes into the barn to lay its eggs in the cat beds. If a cat is asleep in there I have to go under the cat to get the egg!

I'm just picturing the surprise of a cat with chicks hatching underneath! Guess it's unlikely but would be very funny (or a quick tasty treat).
