dog breeding

overheard a conversation whilst having a swift half in the public house earlier, a young lady explaining to her friend how her father hasnt worked for years, instead he has 2 neopolitan mastif bitches and a dog, to produce litters of up to 15 each, selling (so she said) for between 700 and a 1000 each.

if this is accurate, thats one hell of an income. i thought of all that has been said about this on here and i can see that with returns like that its going to be fighting an uphill battle to stop puppy farming. scary stuff.

I don't even have the words right now, but I will later try to say why this is just so wrong.
We'll turn the dust to soil,
Turn the rust of hate back into passion.
It's not water into wine
But it's here, and it's happening.
Massive,
but passive.

Bring the peace back

 don't get me started!!  it shouldn't be a yearly income if the dogs were bred correctly instead of being used as machines!!!

:o  wrong on so many levels.

having said that, I dished out £150 for s-murphy who's a bitsa. Maybe in 4 months a puppy costs a lot with jabs? but I think not..

thing with people like that is they'll get greedier and bang out more and more litters each year. more often than not. poor dogs.

Thats just awful.     There are so many mastiffs in rescue, abandoned, in pounds being put to sleep because no-one claims them its just a massive problem.

Not sure how much those breeds go for but I wouldn't be at all surprised if those figures are correct.

Just look how much these first cross ..... fashionable things .... go for these days.  ???  I don't get it. IF you don't have a problem about doing it, which many don't, then it's a nice bit of pocket money isn't it?  >:(  And people do buy them  ::) ???
