Wow! That's some house. Did you design that all from scratch? Amazing! And there was I thinking my 20 bird house was big!

Monster of a job Victorian Farmer. Looks impressive. My 4 bird breeding coops take me a month each to build!

Is your monster house for chickens, monsters or yourself?

VF, nice house we got the same house 2nd hand - I assume its from a company in wales originally or its a very similar design. We built it on railway sleepers 2 high on each section joint to prevent vermin ( we got the 160 so 4 sections).

Really good houses we had to take ours down when we bought it  ( unfortunately then 100 yards across a ploughed field to the trailer) 3 days to take down and 2 to put up. The only couple of thing to think about are the doors  as it catches roof edge on top of door if caught by wind  - use a fence post to catch it / fix it to rather than damage top of door. Also put a bolt on the inside of the door if you want to catch things up. Perches are a little high and if you have both sides folded down quite difficult for birds to get up as theres not much gap - thinking about lowering some although then you lose the nest box. We have halved our shed in the middle. Wouldn't fancy putting 160 birds in as i think it would be to heavy a number for the space ( i have LF Sussex / Orps/ Welsummers). 160 probably holds 100 comfortably

Also thinking about putting guttering on it and dropping the water in a IBC  as it sheds a lot of water and sides / ends get muddy round it
