Can anyone help. I lost my goose to a fox this morning and the gander is going potty. Does anyone have a spare goose I can have. The ganger is Embden but anything it helpful.

I am probably too far as well - Worcestershire/Herefordshire borders, but I currently have some of this year's youngsters,  but also a large Toulouse type female, layed well last year and hatched youngsters as well.  PM me if she might suit

I am open to travelling a bit, so can you as above give me some details of your geese,, prices, and how old is the Toulouse type.

This is the Toulouse with one of her daughters (now sold) behind her
 
I hatched her out late season 2010 and she laid a few eggs the following year, and I hatched some of the eggs.  This year she laid loads of eggs, I would guess coming up for 30.  They are very big as she is a big goose and fertility was good too.
 
She is easy to handle and non aggressive, even when brooding she allowed me to feel for eggs under her.  Goes to bed easily when told and comes to call, especially if some food is on offer.  I am happy to keep her, but as I am trying to concentrate on the Crested ones, and I know she would be going to a good home....

What a shame! I hope the poor chap calms down, but it must be awful losing your wife like that, even for a goose  .

'Tis also a shame you're in Wales and not Scotland, since we still have several Embden type geese I haven't been able to sell, and going in the oven soon unless somebody decides they want them!
