Can you ripen pumpkin off the vine?  The vine has gone down hill very rapidly over the last week. And now is dead . But monty ( the pumpkin) is still green so he is now sitting on the windowsill. Hoping someone will tell me that he will still ripen.

Not sure but I would leave it on the vine and cover with straw if you expect a frost.
Our vines looked dead after the very dry weather and when I could not water as frequentley as usual. We had some heavy rain and it has given them new life, flowers and a couple of new fruits on each vine ( growing like mad). I will leave them as our growing season is a bit longer this far south.
