New Forest Show
« on: July 27, 2012, 02:53:01 pm »
We had a great show this year! the weather was fabulous almost too hot!
OH and I got married at the show and took the Hampshire Down championship. We were 1 point off getting Reserve interbreed by our good friend with his cracking Charolais ( new Forest Show do a points system where all the judges come in and give points to each sheep put forward to interbreed championship)
A sulfolk shearling ram took the 1st prise and he was a corker.
Many congratulations to Hazelwood Flock who took the Rare and Minority/ Hill and Heath interbreed championship on the last day. Well done Sadie your GFD are a picture and a credit to you.

Congratulations Feldar, I had no idea about the wedding!
I think my ram has come down from the clouds, he was loving the attention at the show - especially meeting Alan Titchmarsh in the grand parade ( I enjoyed that bit too!  ;)  )
Here he is decorated for the parade..

The show is very well run and the stewards are extremely helpful, I would recommend it to anyone who wants to give showing sheep a go!

thanks everyone. we tied the not at the hotel next to the showground and had the reception in the sheep tent afterwards! :o
we steward at the show for the other two days and this year we took the presidents cup for the best run section, so a double celebration.
I also got a kiss from Alan Titchmarsh and spoke to prince Phillip so i'm on about cloud 100!

Bramblecot, the boys are willing - more than just a pretty fleece! Gungadin took breed champion today at the Mid Devon show so seems to be picking up where Finnigan left off, I am so blessed to have 2 such handsome rams.  I just hope it doesn't go to their heads!  :o ;D
