Here in Marlborough, Wiltshire our local neighbourhood police team have alerted us to the following:

"Farmwatch Alert - Be aware of a current SCAM, whereby farms are being cold called, and under the pretext of Farmwatch, asking for money for advertising. THIS IS NOT THE POLICE."

Not sure if its a national thing - but thought people should be aware
