help..... failed egg

left for work and had an egg pipping . OH went out acoupleofhourslater and found this

Eewwww! I've never tried hatching so no idea, but that doesn't look quite right  :-\
Intrigued to read what people in the know say.

I don't know why they do that sometimes but I've had ones look like that and be ok. I'd open it up a bit round the beak, stop if the membrane bleeds, keep the humidity up and see what happens. Or has it already died?

no he had died when hubby got to him. but sounded like a good strong pipping when i said hito him
 :'(  thanks for that tho' (we'll know to peel back and check) looked like sap from trees

Never encountered that before Manian. Perhaps it pipped and ruptured the 'not yet full absorbed' sac. It doesn't look like any infection. But I would have expected blood?
