If our pet lambs come across some dried horse poo they have a good munch on it.  When our mare had her foal the foal used to eat her poo, presumably to get the right bacteria from it for a healthy gut.  Could this be what the lambs are seeking to do?  Should I be discouraging this or leaving them be?  I hasten to add that we do poo-pick our paddocks but its impossible to get every scrap.
Would appreciate opinions.  Thank you.
