Last laugh on the fly-tipper
« on: May 07, 2012, 07:24:12 pm »
We are having some work done and it is plain to see by anyone that drives down the lane that the builders are in. They have sensibly put the skip in near to our house (off the road) so anti social people cant fill it with there junk. Obviously that didn't stop someone who decided to dump their wheelie bin as the lid had broken off, thinking we would dump it in our skip.

Waste not want not.... It is now filled up with lovely soil and has some spuds happily growing away in their own mobile container!

Even better they all have a serial number on round here so you can find out who dumped it by asking the Council to cross-check it.

At a recent litter pick at our local community orchard I came across a good pair of sports socks and a hand towel that will make a perfect general purpose cloth/rag. Last time I came across a load of flannelette sheets that somebody had dumped in a den. Washed and folded they make great dust covers for my husband's car projects

Following a (presumably lost) police car through the lanes a while back we rounded a corner to see a tipper emptying a load of waste in someones gateway.

I left them to it.
