Hi Mork,
the chicks are nearly 2 weeks old now, they originate from castle farm, 'Leghorn' has been developing welsh blacks as a table bird that also lays well, he has done all the trapnest stuff and the poulets lay very well u can read about them at http://www.castlefarmeggs.co.uk/Home.html.
he advised me to put the poulets first to an indian game cock then swap over to a welsh black one, these are the eggs from the first cross. I only got 2 poulets from my hatching but they have laid an astonishing amounts of eggs, filled the incubators and they are now brooding a clutch each.
I hatched 29 first hatch so with the clutches they are brooding will have too many for our own use, got about 6-10 spare, their was some pure indian game in the clutch too so going to keep them.
let me know if u are interested in any, they are growing well and eating loads!!

Welsh Blacks..The pullets lay as good as any Hybrid and the cockerels get to a good tableweight free-range on a grain diet..more if you feed them chemicals ::)
