I turned over a plank in the hen run this morning so the hens could feast on the slugs and worms underneath. As I did so, out ran first one then another field mouse and I saw a tiny round nest made from hay. Looking inside very carefully I saw it was lined with sheeps wool and nestled in that were four tiny,pink babies, the size of a broad bean seed. I put the plank back carefully, I hope the parents return

Little blighters aren't shy are they? Just sit there in the field looking at me just two foot away, then his pal comes along and sits down and starts stuffing his little face looking at me too.

Hmmm. Just wait till they meet my cat

A field I grazed hard in winter which was mossy under the grass has now turned from brown to a fine green beize...
