Looking for advice...

Being new to small scale pedigree pig breeding, I am wondering if anyone has any advice on buying an ear tattoo kit.
The British Lop Society requires ear tattoos, and I am a bit bewildered by the range out there in the market !

Can anyone advise, recommend or sell me their "old-but-still-working" one ?

you may be able to get a second hand  one but be carefull if you can still get characters for it  a six digit head is all you will need unless you are going to produce a hell of a lot of pigs       paste is about £30 a tub  what about getting a loan of one

fearings sell pig ear tattooers i would buy the self realease ones as they are much easier to use compared to the crunch ones.

the lop society instructions will tell you to put the paste on the ear first but until you are confident in the whole procedure i would use the ear pliers first and then rub in the paste this way if you make a mistake you can let the ear heal then redo leaving only the intended mark.

Does anyone know of a supplier of rotary pliers? By that, I mean the ones where you rotate the numbers and letters, a bit like an old shop pricing gun, instead of fiddling about inserting individual letters. I'm always on the lookout and am prepared to pay a good price for the right thing.
My Fearings pliers have tiny characters (I chose the biggest they supply) and I'm fed up of fiddling about with sticky, inky fingers. The only thing I like about them is the release mechanism.

our tattoo kit has small letters, but when we got dorothy, her tattoo was about 3 x the size. much better to be bigger i think.
