Moved everythng we want off the farm now. Farmer who used to rent the fields for his cows, has, and still is, very good with us, and brings his tractor for any lifting we need to do round the farm. So, to thank him, I said he could take what was left - rather than leave it for the new owners. Lots of big telegraph poles he wanted, scrap, drainage pipe etc. so he and his son have been there with the tractor moving stuff for a couple of days.
Yesterday, they were in the stone outhouse in the orchard behind the orchard, moving the greenhouse frame. There is an old table in the corner, been there years. Apparantly, as they moved the greenhouse, they woke up a large badger who was asleep under the table .......
Two farmers ran down the orchard, and the badger ran the other way. Wish I had been there to see it. Badger must have moved in, when he realised the house was empty and no one was around. I have been in there lately moving things and never saw it, and countless house viewers, including whoever took the water tank, went in there too!!!
The worst of it is, since the TB we had on the farm, I had told the farmer I had not seen any badgers on the land, so I am sure he did not expect to meet one in the outhouse at such close quarters!!!!!
