Pig height?
« on: August 08, 2011, 03:49:22 pm »
I know what horses are measured at the withers  ;) and i have seen that pigs are measured at the shoulder.

What exacly does that mean?

Where on the shoulder do i measure?

I'm being asked a lot about how tall my pigs are and i cannot tell them apart from hand gestures of about yey high lol

Sorry to be exceptionally noobie but i did try to find out before i asked hehe (tried a google search and some of the things that are coming back are NOT to do with measuring a pig i can tell you)

Pass !
I normally go for 'yey high' too  ;) ;D ;D ;D
I'd imagine it would be the top of the shoulder though  :-\

Ye i thought that to but wanted it clarified first.  Lots of people are asking me about mum to the piglets as she is small and how big the piglets are going to make.  I just say "moms yey high and no idea re piglets but maybe moms size or a tad bigger" seeing Kunes and Kune x micros that are a lot bigger than mine so i am a tad confused now.  Won't matter much when they're in the freezer anyhow just wanted to know hehe
