DH is thinking of entering his "rhubarb wine" into a show. Now I know that the judging should be on the wine but realistically - it's all about the presentation isn't it 

Anybody got any top tips on how wine should be presented? i.e. what kind of bottle, cork or cap? etc etc.

Clear bottle, proper cork cork (none of these rubber jobs    ) - now that's just my personal guess because we've never entered any of our plummy wine yet. will watch this thread with interest now!

There will be rules for the show you are planning to enter. For the Horticultural show I attend, where there is a wine and beer show as well as plants, the rules for white wine are, as plumseverywhere said, a clear bottle, but not a cork, our judges prefer to have a plastic cap, as it is easier to remove.

I do know that some people use wine filters that have a very fine mesh. The result is a wine that has its original colour, but is much brighter.

I dare say that, as in anything, presentation is important but,I think, it will only be a quarter of the points compared with taste, maturity etc. Go for it and good luck
