Would it be worth asking at allotments or putting a card in newagent windows for spare veg.  Could always offer a pork joint at killing in return for a good haul of veg?

We are really blessed living within easy reach of the veg. freezing and canning factory.  Is there anything like that within reasonable driving distance for you.

If you are looking for some green feed.......why not put a cup of  barley in a tray ( planter tray)and water it till it sprouts.   Leave it till it attains a hieght of 4 inches and then feed this to your pigs roots and all.  You dont need soil at the root end as long as the grain is kept damp.   Make sure there is no fungus growing, you might ahve to give  it a squirt of fungicide just to keep that at bay.
